Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
spendpath is a travel expense tracker available at app.babelbadger.com and as a mobile app. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what control you have over it.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, a display name, and a password (stored as a secure hash; we never see the plain text).
- The information you enter — trips, expenses, amounts, currencies, categories, notes, budgets, cash withdrawals, and settlement records.
- Anonymous usage analytics — we use PostHog to record anonymous product events (for example, "an expense was added") so we can understand which features are used. These events contain no financial figures, no personal details, and no session recordings.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We don't show ads.
- We don't put your financial figures or personal details into analytics.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored on your device first, so the app works offline. When you create an account, your data also syncs to our database, hosted with Supabase, so you can access it from other devices. If you use the app without an account, your data stays on your device only.
Sharing within the app
If you share a trip with a share code, people who join that trip can see the trip's expenses and the display names of its members. Only share a trip code with people you want to have that access.
Your rights and controls
- Export — you can export any trip's expenses to CSV from within the app at any time.
- Deletion — you can delete your account from within the app (Backup & sync screen). This permanently removes your cloud data and your account.
- Access and correction — you can view and edit all of your data directly in the app.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, your cloud data is deleted permanently. Routine database backups age out on a rolling schedule.
